Milton Estrella-Gavidia is considered one of Ecuador's top talents. Self-taught, and still early in his career, he has already produced Master class works with remarkable style and technique. Several of his paintings are featured on Ecuadors postage stamps ^{(see below)}. Estrella-Gavidia's work is quite unique, especially when he paints in the "Grisaille" technique. A grisaille is a monochromatic painting executed in shades of gray, as its French name implies. While Milton is known to employ a wide range of colors in other paintings, his grisaille still lifes often include a single object rendered in a vibrant color, affecting a powerful contrast against a backdrop of subtle gray tones. The result is striking. He merges traditional subjects with avant-garde palettes and exquisite detail, creating artwork that captivates his audience.
